Concept study / Metal fabrication
Ember Metalworks
Built around the connection.
Fictional business. Imagined brief. Original illustrations.
No client relationship or measured business results.

01 / The brief
Start with the business.
We imagined a small metal shop making gates, frames and one-off details. In the fictional old-site brief, a long equipment list buried the finished work. A customer could see the machines, but not what the shop could make for them.
02 / The angle
The connection is the craft.
Every frame depends on the place where two pieces meet. Bring that detail forward, and the shop’s care becomes visible before a visitor reads the service list.
03 / The decisions
Nothing here by accident.
Aa &
Oswald
Oswald has the narrow, upright proportions of a workshop stencil. Short headlines sit with the weight of a stamped plate. Plain body type keeps the practical details easy to read.
Mill scale#252a27
Copper edge#efba80
Chalk#f1eee7
Colour from the material.
Warm copper comes from the imagined cut edge of steel. Charcoal comes from mill scale. The copper is light enough to stay readable on the dark ground.
A layout that belongs.
The Forge family leads with a wide, close view of the work. Three fabrication groups follow. A large statement creates a pause before the account of how a joint is resolved.
The image sequence.
Original vector drawings stand in for project photographs. A finished frame establishes the work; a close joint shows the detail; a rail study changes scale. For a live shop, we would use permitted photographs of its own finished pieces and welds, without stock workshop portraits.
04 / The result
The whole front door.
A dark, direct front door with a clear route from the piece to the project inquiry. This is a design outcome, not evidence of leads, sales or a real commission.

The everyday view / 390 px
A small screen.
The same idea.
The phone is a complete layout of its own. The headline, image order and contact route keep the same direction.
